[POSTPONED] Radiant Nights #2

No reservation required. Click here to learn how to get in as a member.

Note: CST is required for this event.

Radiant Nights is a space for creation and experimentation, unburdened by conventions. Taking centre stage are versatile artists who go beyond binary thinking and seek out the in-between space.

During Radiant Nights #2 we present performances, orations and lectures that reflect on the question: What stories do we share? And via which framework can we approach and tell these stories? What does an archive, a tradition, mean? And how do individual, personal stories relate to the national one?

In a wild performance, choreographer Bryana Fritz undermines and reinterprets the life of female medieval saints. Via the oratorial tradition of the Shiite ceremony of Ashura, visual artist Rana Hamadeh structures a sound performance that comments on the Lebanese-Syrian conflict. Choreographer and performer Göksu Kunak explores the late modernity of Turkey in a sci-fi TV variety show. Sound and performance artist Fallon Mayanja opposes the radical representation logic and seeks out subaltern forms of knowledge and strategies of social transformation.

Spectators can choose between two programmes:

Programme 1

  • 8pm Bryana Fritz
  • 9pm Rana Hamadeh (presented in collaboration with MUHKA)
  • 10pm Göksu Kunak
  • 11pm Late Night Concerts*

  • 9pm Rana Hamadeh (presented in collaboration with MUHKA)
