Ready to blossom and overgrow the past
Now that the dog days are behind us, it’s time to smack back into the good old habits. With S.M.A.K., we’re coming hot into the new season with a hot and heavy lineup. This evening features three very danceable artists. First up, our homegrown drag performer and member of Ghent-based queer collective House of Lux Electra, who is determined to mesmerise you with nostalgia. Also performing is Shygirl, the South East London singer and DJ who is currently taking over the European experimental club scene. Finally, Kim Berly, an underground trance gender mixing vogue with industrial beats and palm trees, will pull you back to the dark and steamy vibes of the sweaty room where you’ll be dancing your ass off all night.
Much to our regret we received the news that FAKA can’t make it to our show at S.M.A.K. tonight. Fela Gucci and Desire Marea sent us this statement: “Due to personal health reasons and visa issues FAKA will unfortunately not be able to play in Ghent. We apologize to all our fans and hope that we will be given the chance to make up for it in the future.”
We want to let you know that the Subbacultcha staff did everything they could to make this show happen but the issues were outside our control. The FAKA agency promised us to reschedule the Subbacultcha show somewhere in 2019. You will be the first to know when we have the date confirmed.
The Subbacultcha at S.M.A.K. event is one of our highlights of the Fall and will definitely take place tonight. We’re super excited to see Electra and Shygirl play and we’re also happy to inform you that our fave trance gender Kim Berly will also show up for a special performance. So bring all your friends and join our night filled with self expression and queerness.
