Histories of a Picture to Come is the first of a series of exhibitions with works from the Argos collection that examines the dialectics between photographic and moving images. It explores the ways in which historical events are depicted, told and documented. There is no intention to establish a hierarchy or inventory, or to write a history of the 20th century’s massacres. The objective is to investigate how contemporary artists reflect on our recent past.
