Refections on decolonisation and sauvage curatorship in the current BOZAR exhibition
In her latest three-part film installation Aphasia, Ghent-based visual artist Jelena Jureša delves into Europe’s
collective silence centred around Belgian colonialism, the Holocaust and the Yugoslavian wars. With help from
stills and moving images, she hopes to give us a nudge in the fight against these historical amnesias, the chronic
speechlessness when it comes to our society’s deep-rooted injustice, racism and intolerance.
