Aglaia Konrad aims her lens at urban space and development in cities spread over the five continents. Her work is considered visual research: over the years it has become a valuable archive with images from cities all over the world. She takes us to Sicily in her new film, to the ‘Cretto di Burri’ or ‘The Great Cretto’, an enormous landscape artwork that was started but left unfinished by Alberto Burri. The work was completed in 2015 to mark what would have been Burri’s 100th birthday. This landscape intervention consists of white concrete fractures on the ground, to pay homage to the victims of the 1968 Belice earthquake.
