Job offer: Community Developer

Subbacultcha Belgium is an independent subscription model devoted to emerging music and art. Together with our ever-growing community we’re supporting boundary-pushing artists and initiatives in Belgium and beyond. Subbacultcha gives them the audience they deserve from the start by providing an affordable membership to like-minded music and art enthusiasts. Members get access to concerts, parties, exhibitions and performances at more than 50 venues in 5 cities.

We’re looking for a Community Developer to join our Ghent based team to help the Subbacultcha Belgium community grow and flourish. As our Community Developer you’ll have the opportunity to help define the Subbacultcha Belgium brand and future roadmap by bridging the gap between marketing strategy, design and customer service.

Application deadline: 13/01/2020

About the job

Digital marketing

  • You help Subbacultcha Belgium grow by creating membership drives. You manage these campaigns from start to finish: develop the concept and strategy, create the artwork and provide copywriting, and report insights and results to your colleagues
  • You manage all Subbacultcha Belgium social media, take the lead on strategy and calendar, and are able to create the necessary content and copy yourself
  • You come up with relevant ideas for mailings and execute them
  • You create visuals for our own events and create campaigns to promote them
  • You analyse membership data and use the insights to strengthen your strategy
  • You’re involved with the development of Subbacultcha Belgium’s future by giving input about the Subbacultcha Belgium brand, strategy and membership

Digital producer

  • You’re responsible for the Subbacultcha Belgium website and the membership system
  • You communicate and collaborate with our development partner about feature requests, potential improvements and other opportunities
  • You publish articles and create new website (landing) pages
  • You keep the event agenda on the site up to date
  • You’re our go-to person for (technical) advice (think SEO, email hosting, our CRM and CMS systems, …) and you advise the team about possible workflow improvements

Membership management

  • You communicate with our members and partners via email and social media. You answer any questions they might have about the membership or the events with a customer first attitude
  • You provide (technical) support to members who experience problems with their membership. In case you’re unable to help you clearly brief our development partner about the issue and follow up with them until a solution is reached
  • You follow up on all new subscriptions: from adding them to our CRM to sending out the legendary Subbacultcha Belgium tote bags

About you

  • You’re a driven young professional with a first relevant working experience on your CV (min. 1 year)
  • You’re fluent in English and proficient in Dutch and/or French
  • You’re a digital native who’s active on social media (owning a smartphone is a must ;-))
  • You understand the Subbacultcha brand and target audience and are interested in music, art and culture
  • You have experience with social media and content marketing, the Google marketing cloud stack (Analytics, Ads, …) and other marketing / communication platforms (Mailchimp, Slack, Trello, …)
  • You have experience working with Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects and video editing software such as Final Cut Pro or Premiere
  • You’re familiar with using audio / video recording equipment
  • You’re not intimidated by technical tasks and research and are quick to learn about new developments and to share your knowledge with others (e.a. implementing a new CRM or CMS system, updating DNS records, create new pages on the website, …)
  • You don’t mind working in a small team and are able to make your own to-do list, manage your time and take initiative
  • You’re able to cope with deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
  • You have strong communication skills, written and oral, and are not afraid to voice your opinions
  • Any experience with product or customer life cycles is a plus
