Déjà Vu - May/June 2021
These days you might feel like you’ve already seen it, that you’ve gone through the present situation before and already experienced what’s happening now. We know: we can’t deny that a splash of pure nostalgia gets us weak at the knees lately – it’s the feeling of delicious melancholy that comes from thinking about things that happened in the past. But this issue, you’re holding in your hands a current representation of what passes for the here-and-now in Subbacultcha-land, and how we shed light on (y)our own reality. So the past is a goodbye; creativity is a presence.
