Fabian Verbeke is a trailblazer. Take a look at his Instagram and you’ll get the deal. The man is a Pandora’s Box of ideas. Ambitious, limitless, strong-minded and flawless are a few of the flattering adjectives we could label him with. He’s the whole circle: a stylist, a designer and even a photographer when he decides to hit the selfie stick.
He’s currently developing these skills with a degree in photography, designing graphics and creating his own unisex clothing line, ‘evil live2k’. He also recently started organizing parties with his friends. And speaking of friends, Verbeke lives by his crew: by having common interests and mindsets, the guys support and inspire each other. His boys, or ‘family’ as he likes to put it, have been essential in forming him into the person he is today, leaving maths and Latin translations behind and expanding his creativity. I’ve learnt to never limit myself. If I feel like there’s an opportunity I will always go for it
What is your specialty?
I wouldn’t necessary say I have one specialty. I’ve always been very interested in learning a lot of different trades. I’m an autodidact. Currently I’m spending my time mostly on photography – because I study it in the Royal Academy in Antwerp – and also designing graphics and unisex pieces for my brand evil live2k.
How do people know you?
I guess most people in Belgium know me from seeing me in Antwerp. I go out often and meet a lot of people on the dancefloor. Globally I’m mostly known through my Instagram.
What are you working on?
I’m throwing a party with my friends on 21 April. It’s called NightVisioN, and we’re bringing quite a few (semi-)underground trap artists from Belgium and Holland. I’m so glad I can do this with my friends and I can’t wait to organise more.
What will the second part of 2018 bring you?
Focus more on what’s really important for me. Putting more time into projects I care about. Spending more time with the people I love. I’m a very ambitious person, when I was still a kid I always told myself I was going to be successful in something I love doing. I’m still telling myself this but now it’s becoming real.
Are you part of a crew?
Yes, I am – although I see them more as family. ★~(◡‿◕)
Do you think it’s important to have a good social entourage?
Yeah, for me it’s super important. Having my friends around me to help and support me makes a huge difference. I couldn’t do everything I do without them. My friends are my biggest inspiration.
How did peers influence your life?
They made me want to be different. I used to study Latin and maths but after a while I noticed that I wasn’t really about that life. From that moment on I started to be more creative.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned from your peers?
I’ve learnt to never limit myself. If I feel like there’s an opportunity I’ll always go for it.
Do you experience peers more like a positive or a negative phenomenon?
Definitely positive. I try to surround me with people that interest me.
Do you feel the need to conform to those around you?
I’m lucky I found a group of people with whom I match perfectly. We’re all of the same mindset and we’re interested in the same kinda things. Being able to be conform without changing myself is great.
Do you regret any time you’ve given in to peer pressure?
Not really. I’ve always tried to stay true to myself. I can’t really be bothered by what people think of me.
Is there anyone in your scene who needs more attention?
All my friends are underrated, but we’re kinda used to it. Time will tell. Shoutout @yungmatrix01, @nightvision.space, @uitjas, @indimouart, @francisarvinortega, @timoern, @limbomberomeo, @jonathanmanzila, @yunobi, @gianlucapotami, @jmkpassjmk (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
