Everything is running at full speed in March: there’s a lot of interesting indoor festivals (KRAAK, BANG!, Listen, Out The Frame), wonderful expo’s, screenings, performances (Hugo Claus con amor, opening Pathé Palace,) and concerts almost every day. It’s like the country is getting ready for summer after a hibernation. We decided to ask Astrid, music programmer at Ancienne Belgique, to tell us what’s going on this month.
I like KRAAK festival because of the diversity of the music. It’s a three-day trip of avant-garde music, a yearly musical exploration in its purest form.
Lous is a very interesting singer from Brussels. She sings in French and English on beautiful melancholic music. Looking forward to seeing her live!
I think this will be a fantastic evening for every electronic music lover. Emptyset is a duo that stretches boundaries and dares to experiment with new sounds and structures.
Yves De Mey is a key musician in the Belgian electronic music scene.
BANG! has a very cool line up! The two concerts I’m looking forward to the most are Easter + Lolina, because of the wonderful Inga Copeland and Dean Blunt. Black is Beautiful, the record they made together is one of my favourites.
