We're excited to announce a Jack Playmobil night! The Antwerp-based label brings its blissed-out techno sounds to Troya, Ghent on 21 June. Expect spacey live sets by Hantrax and Hungry Soul, as well as pumping DJ sets by label-head Jan Techniks, Ruby Rage and D.J. Baute. The show is free for members. In order to dance.

We just confirmed two more shows for next month. Lo-fi songwriter and White Fence guitar player John Webster Johns will perform at DOK, Ghent on 16 June. Supported by Ghent-based garage rockers Alpha Whale and drone folk guitarist Urpf Lanze. uSSSy is an instrumental duo that brings merciless noise alternated with heavy psych and eastern rhythms. They will be at Scheld'apen, Antwerp on 20 June. Both shows are free for members.

The following months will sure be psychedelia-heavy. Brooklyn lo-fi band The Babies play De Kreun, Kortrijk on June 17, then psych-pop group Sic Alps drop by Madame Moustache, Brussels on 28 June. A bit later, two chilean bands who both released their sophomore albums on Sacred Bones this year stop by Benelux: kraut-psych outfit Föllakzoid at AreaFiftyOne in Eindhoven on 20 August and The Holydrug Couple at Madame Moustache, Brussels on 22 November. Matt Papish a.k.a. Co La is getting ready to release his new album of sample-based electronic music Moody Coup, officially due 7 May on Brooklyn-based label Mexican Summer. Ekster is a brand new Antwerp label that aims to collect and immortalize good music. Their first drop, Roman Hiele’s debut album, will be released at Scheld’apen, Antwerp on 31 May. Exciting confirmation today. Alex Zhang Hungtai, the man behind Dirty Beaches, takes his experimental loner cuts to Ancienne Belgique on 14 May. He shares the bill with London-based lo-fi art pop quartet Veronica Falls, who will definitely bring a more British vibe to this Tuesday night occasion in Brussels. Free for members.

On 12 May the Montrealers of Blue Hawaii bring their dreamy tropical sounds to Botanique in Brussels, then a few days later on 15 May the veteran anarchist dutch group The Ex performs at Vooruit with brass musicians Ab Baars, Wolter Wierbos, Ken Vandermark & Roy Paci joining them as Brass Unbound. We're excited to announce that music theorist and Wire contributor Adam Harper will settle in Wiels, Brussels on May 2 for a lecture about pop vanguardist John Maus, connecting him with some of the key issues in today's underground pop music while touching on other relevent movements such as hypnagogic pop and vaporwave. The lecture will be followed by a screening of the cult classic Robocop which is rumored to be John Maus's favourite film - so get your cyborg on for a dystopic trip down memory lane!
