A talk with Jane Penny, TOPS’s vocalist, at her home back in Montreal
Exhibiting for the very first time at the BPS22, Charleroi-born artist Thomas Mazzarella will be showing his works created over the past ten years, containing a perfect blend of naivety, irony and disenchantment. The young artist’s acrylic-on-wood and oil-on-canvas pictures each conceal a dense and complex universe that perfectly reflects our world. Mazarella manages to picture on small formats totally imaginary spaces and environments translating habits and structures of our contemporary world. Recurring themes of the artist living in Brussels now are architecture, frame, stage and motifs and this in a conceptual and at the same time formal way.
