A talk with Jane Penny, TOPS’s vocalist, at her home back in Montreal
BOZAR never deceives, or so it seems. This month, in the context of Europalia Arts Festival, the venue will host special guests for a night dedicated to Indonesia. You’ll be able to dance to the beats of some major figures of the European electronic scene.
Our editor-in-chief Kasper-Jan Raeman selects 3 artists you can’t miss.
My personal highlight of Bozar Night is R&S artist Paula Temple. Do not be mistaken by the six year break Temple took after being in the scene since the 00’s: techno is still in her veins and experimenting her way through the technology of DJ’ing. Think raw sounds with a rhythmical undertone, and let the beat control your body.
Part social media strategist, part musician, Diego Salas leads a double life he’s learned to balance over the years. When he’s not selling social media plans, Diego is better known as DC Salas, one of the most notorious names of the Belgian nightlife scene. DC Salas just released his first album on his own imprint, Biologic Records.
Jan Schulte aka Wolf Müller is a German producer and record enthusiast. Being resident at the infamous Salon des Amateurs in Düsseldorf as well as musical host of far-out experimental single-club parties, he formed his percussive and enthusiastic way to bring ritual flow to the dancefloor. Europalia invited Schulte to discover the rural music of Kalimantan (Borneo). He recorded and assimilated traditional music and collected typical instruments of the region that he will play during his live show at Bozar Night. Not to be missed!
Bozar Night ft. Paula Temple, DC Salas, Wolf Müller and more takes place at Bozar, Brussels on 10 November. The event is free for Subbacultcha members. Join here.
