Music — this thing that is as much part of our life as it shapes it. Whether we’re going through the perks of early mornings or in search of the perfect catalyst to get a party started, we all have a mental playlist for specific memories and moments. Since here at Subbacultcha music is essential to our existence, we decided that from now on, every month, we’ll ask an artist to take some time to reflect on moments in life and the music that completed them. This moth we’re asking Salomé Dos Santos Ataide Magalhaes aka rapper, singer and writer BLU SAMU.
If you want to have the right transition from dreamworld to reality, I suggest you listen to this one; perfect for a calm start to get you in the right state of mind.
“If you want it, you can have it”.
This song has everything it needs, the PHAT beat at the beginning ( that bass ) and then the transition to a more of acoustic type of beat is one of the things that makes me love this song and get a lot of inspiration from it. I love it when one song has more then one dimension!! Anderson .Paak was like a fresh wind when he released his album “Malibu”. And when he teamed op with one of my favorite producers ( Kaytranada <3 ) it just had to be fire.
This one is pretty self-explanatory , just press play!
His voice is super smooth, the song is called Wintergarden. He talks about the things he’d like to do and about his love and what he wants to do with her and so on. When I close my eyes I can just picture myself in a cottage house somewhere far from the city. Everything covered in white and love nearby keeping me warm like a fire.
My first love introduced me to this song. I kind of relate to Ab-soul’s story. And the way he put it is terrifyingly beautiful. Favourite phrase is “I live to let you shine”.
