A talk with Jane Penny, TOPS’s vocalist, at her home back in Montreal
On the bill today is Crowd of Chairs, a noisy post punk trio from Ghent. Describing themselves as ‘a mixture of rough deep-blowing guitarwaves, loud hyperkinetic drums and careless yells combined with some kind of hypnotic singing’, they present to us their freshly produced video clip ‘Ibogaine’, a fragmented 8mm sneak peek of their first record to come, this October, on the talented pool of music that is the Live Fast Die Young record label. Reminding one of something in-between a triptych and an Instagram grid, these eclectic frames, as curated by the band members themselves, leave us wondering what will come next. Crowd of Chairs: to be continued.
Triple x six-six-six counting, so count me in. Just to sober me up and get me out
